Heart of Life Spirituality Centre

Heart of Life began in 1983 as an initiative of the
Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. Our inspiration stems
from our belief in God’s love for all people, poured into our
hearts by the Holy Spirit. This mysterious love moves in
our hearts, our lives and our world, inviting us to an
authentic, grounded and deeply human way of being.

We find ourselves drawn into and bonded with other human
hearts, the heart of humanity, and indeed the sacred
mystery at the heart of all reality. The way of the heart is
fundamental to the rich tradition of Christian spirituality of
which we are part. It is a spirituality of loving dialogue
and sensitive awareness to God’s self-revelation, calling us
to a passionate boldness of heart for mission.

The way of the heart rests on a contemplative attitude and
an authentic discernment that underpins all that we do at
Heart of Life – our seminars and workshops, our ministry
formation programs and our professional commitment to
spiritual direction … the place where the heart finds space
to speak. We invite you to join us, as our hearts speak
our truth, our longings, and our search for all that is real,
true and good.

Open House on Sunday, February 26, would be a good
opportunity to meet our staff. All are welcome.
Our formation staff include Lis Teggelove rsm, Marlene
McGrath, Kathleen Spokes sgs, Jen Hall, Carole Carmody
rsm, Angela Slattery ibvm, Asaeli Raass svd, Paul Spence
and Sue Richardson pbvm. Sue is the director of Heart of
Life.
